While most of us begin our first tracks in the morning with intentions of skiing the whole mountain, the reality is that the majority remain on the groomed stuff throughout the entire ski weekend, rarely spending more than 10% of our time in untracked terrain. That's why Salomon created their Women's Amber ski with integrated LZ 9 binding as the primary carving platform for all-mountain recreational skiers. It gives you all-mountain versatility with an easy-carving sidecut,forgiving composite fiber core. Some all-terrain skis get a bad rap among beginners,less-than-hardcore skiers because they have a twitchy core profile that tends to feel a little too lively in the bumps,other ungroomed places. While Salomon's expert-oriented Women's Origins,Jade all-mountain skis have a wood core, the Amber Ski has a proven composite fiber core that absorbs the vibrations,shock of unanticipated (or unseen) undulations in the snow. This season Salomon tweaked their Amber Ski with new graphics,redesigned binding configuration, but the emphasis on stability,predictable performance remains the same. The LZ binding series is female specific,features a lighter elastic pedal, but with the same automatic wing adjustment features found in Salomon's higher-end bindings. On Sale |
